How to make SUIZAN – Japanese saws
After cutting steel materials manufactured in Japan, remove the flash by grinder machine. It requires a great deal of skill.
Setting the blade – “metate”
Cut the teeth with a round blade to make edge called “uwame” and “nageshi”.
Setting the blade – “asari-dashi”
Set the position of teeth so that they are alternately facing the right and left side to reduce friction and smooth the pulling action.
Printing the SUIZAN logo
Print our SUIZAN logo with ink and pass the blade through a heater tunnel to burn it so that the ink is not peeled.
Checking the blade
Check the blade to make sure that it is not bent nor scratched. After checking, coat the blade with oil to prevent it from rusting.
Assembling them into a product
Assemble a blade and a handle made from Japanese rattan into a pull saw. Check again that there is no bend.
